Physics 387M: Center for Relativity Machines
The
Center for Relativity maintains
a cluster of scientific workstations and X-terminals. Most of the workstations,
including the ones you will use in this course, are manufactured by
Silicon Graphics Inc.,
(SGI), and several of these SGI machines have medium- to high-end
graphics hardware. You will have a common home directory on all of the machines
listed below, so you will be able to remotely login to any of them.
However, I strongly suggest that you restrict your usage as much as possible
to einstein and godel. Finally,
note that all of these machines reside in the ph.utexas.edu subdomain,
so, for example, einstein's full name is einstein.ph.utexas.edu.
Contact the instructor for information regarding non-remote usage of these
machines.
